SHARP Literacy
SHARP Literacy is committed to providing educational opportunities for urban youth. The Glendale-based nonprofit teaches essential reading and writing skills to empower children and help them succeed in today’s fast-moving economy. Neurosurgery and Endovascular Associates is proud to support the SHARP program and its ongoing mission to educate children and promote curiosity throughout Milwaukee and Waukesha County.
Dr. Arvind Ahuja was named as a Presenting Sponsor for the organization’s A Novel Event 2017, hosted at the Pfister Hotel with keynote speaker Randall Cobb. The event’s main message was the importance of being a lifelong learner and encouraging this attitude at a young age. During his speech Cobb discussed his educational path, importance of literacy, and his mission to be a lifelong learner, while advocating support to SHARP Literacy.
Dr. Arvind Ahuja has previously sponsored SHARP Literacy’s 2015 gala, which featured keynote speaker Henry Winkler. During the event Winkler highlighted the importance of open communication between parents and children, while also emphasizing the need for consideration and patience with children suffering from learning challenges.
Dr. Arvind Ahuja’s efforts to provide his patients with the highest level of care possible is demonstrated in his unyielding commitment to excellence in both his clinical practice and in his surgical skills, but his dedication to advancing the field of neuroscience goes beyond his individual practice.
One way he demonstrates that commitment is by being an active participant and supporter of the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation, a national group dedicated to advancing the science of neurosurgery and the care provided by neurosurgeons. Recently, Dr. Ahuja helped sponsor the L. Nelson “Nick” Hopkins NREF Young Clinician Investigator Award, which supports junior faculty who are pursuing careers as clinical investigators.
Dr. Ahuja shares the foundation’s commitment to research into new treatment possibilities and the development of educational resources that can help neurosurgeons throughout the country. He is a long-time member of the foundation’s Cushing Circle of Giving and is a platinum-level supporter of this important national nonprofit group.
Being a world-class neurosurgeon is not limited to office visits and the operating room, and Dr. Ahuja extends his commitment to delivering quality care by supporting advanced research and community outreach through his active support of the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation.
Kenosha Unified School District
Any medical professional will tell you that an AED – automated external defibrillator – can save the life of someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
To help make these devices more widely available, Dr. Arvind Ahuja recently donated several AEDs to Kenosha Unified School District for use in sports stadiums and other athletic facilities.
AEDs deliver an electric shock that can restart a heart that has stopped beating. And the sooner a victim can receive this treatment, the better the chance for survival. AEDs are relatively simple to operate and can be used by first responders or others without advanced medical training.
Visit the Red Cross to learn more about this life-saving device and how to become AED certified.

Neighborhood House
Neighborhood House is a pillar of the community offering early childhood education, after-school programs, learning centers, science classes and much more to Milwaukee residents.
To help showcase the center’s broad range of services – as well as the many staff and volunteers who help make it possible – Dr. Arvind Ahuja recently supported the production of a new line of introductory Neighborhood House videos.
“It’s our role to provide volunteer services and really support good community leaders, good teachers and great kids,” says Dr. Ahuja, who was featured in one of the newly released videos.
